Year 12 prepare Brueton Park’s Secret Garden for the Summer

As part of their Enrichment Week, Year 12 worked with ‘Love Solihull’ to get Brueton Park’s secret garden ‘Summer ready’.

Love Solihull support local schools, businesses, community groups and residents in making a positive difference to the borough. The girls weeded the area, cut back overhanging branches, spread wood chippings and painted the mushrooms and bear in the garden.

Shameena Villars, Community Development Executive at Solihull MBC, commented:

“The girls worked in the park for the day and made a great impact on the area, with passers-by commenting on how great the garden looked”.

Shameena was a former pupil at Saint Martin’s and left our Sixth Form in 2010.  Shameena lived and worked in Nepal for 6 months at Annal Jyoti School before studying Global Development and Peace Studies at Leeds Metropolitan University. She then worked at the Princes Trust for 3 years before joining SMBC.
