Reading Awards for Year 3

Some of the girls in Year 3 have successfully completed the first stage of the “Broadly Reading Award”. This council-led initiative encourages children to expand their breadth of reading by exploring different styles of writing.

The Poetry Award required the girls to select a poet and read a selection of their poetry. They looked at themes and styles to enable them to discuss their poet in detail in a 10 minute interview. The Prose Award required the same level of detail for short stories or novels.

The girls thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and are well on their way to their next award.
