Junior School Cross Country Borough Champions

Just before the October half term holiday 19 girls from the Junior School ran in the Solihull Borough Cross Country Championships. There was a massive turnout of runners with 21 girls’ teams and a total of just over 250 girls. Saint Martin’s entered 3 teams and were the only school to do so.

Our results are very pleasing: 10 of our girls came in the top 50 places. This included two of our Year 4 runners, Freya Gallagher who came 48th and Olivia Owens who was 44th.  These are exceptional achievements especially as they were running against Year 6 girls.

It is a long course to run round and to finish it is an achievement, so our team results are pleasing. Our C team was 13th and our B team came 7th.

Individual successes came from Mia Carless who was 13th , Holly Ashford came 10th and both Giorgia Dalley and Isobel Hall ran superbly to finish 7th and 4th. These results, plus good running from Clodagh McGowan and Matilde Moerland, contributed to the A team result and we are proud to announce that we are Solihull Cross Country Borough Champions.

Well done to everyone who took part.
