A Level Results 2019

|

It is with tremendous pride that Saint Martin’s is delighted to announce another impressive set of A-level results. Yet again almost 10% of all entries are graded A* and over 30% of this year’s leavers’ grades are at the very top level of A*/A, an increase of 4% from 2018. 61% of grades A*, A and B and 84% of all grades are at A*, A, B and C. These outstanding results will ensure acceptance to all-important university places and open employment doors for the girls’ successful future.

In all subjects, Saint Martin’s students achieved a 100% rate, demonstrating the depth and range of their abilities. This is reflected in the variety of further study choices: girls have been accepted on courses including Law, Philosophy and Theology, Acoustic Engineering, Agriculture, Spanish & Portuguese, Geography, Politics, Physiotherapy and Business Studies. Of this year’s cohort two Saint Martin’s students will now embark on their exciting career path, training to become pilots!

In addition to their A level results many girls achieved a superb EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) result. With 75% gaining A*/A.  This qualification is highly regarded by universities as it encourages independent study and research skills.

Annabel Bamford is to be congratulated on obtaining the best results in the School’s history, gaining A*, A*, A*, A* (Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry) and is going to study Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London.

Mrs Smillie, Head of Saint Martin’s commented: “We are all elated with the achievements of this year’s Upper Sixth. A combination of excellent teaching from a dedicated team together with the girls’ own hard work and determination have resulted in a remarkable set of results.

Our girls are encouraged to make the most of every moment of their time at Saint Martin’s and we are very pleased that these accomplished young women have been involved in so many worthwhile (and enjoyable!) extracurricular activities alongside their academic studies.

These young people have been a pleasure to work with, and we send them into the world beyond Saint Martin’s with results, skills and attitudes which will set them apart from the crowd. I wish every one of them the very best for their exciting futures.”
