I am very pleased to welcome you to our website which is intended to give you a flavour of the education that we have on offer at Saint Martin's.
Our aim is to provide an all-round education of the highest quality in a safe, happy, supportive and stimulating environment where each individual girl succeeds. Due to the size of our school community all our girls are valued as individuals and my staff give generously of their time and energy to enhance the educational experience. Not only do our girls make good academic progress and achieve high standards in their work, they benefit from the full range of extra-curricular activities that are provided and excel in their sport and music.
We are very proud of being a school that educates girls and only girls. There are many reasons why we are so passionate about the education of girls and some of our reasons are given here. As Head of Saint Martin’s I am a member of the Girls’ Schools Association and their website also gives the benefits of single sex education for your daughter; www.gsa.uk.com/why-a-girls-school.
At every age the broad and balanced curriculum is enriched by a wide range of local outings and visits which adds to the learning experience. Year 4, for example, spend a day at the Roman site at Lunt Fort imagining what it was like to be part of the Roman army. Year 8 visit Much Wenlock as part of their Geography Fieldwork, Year 10 go to the Science Live Exhibition to supplement their studies, and in Art and Design Technology opportunities are taken to visit the Barber Institute and the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. For more details of our Enrichment activities see the News page.
The International Dimension enables girls to look beyond this country and we have a very active link with the Annal Joyti School in Nepal. Following a recent trip to China in October 2012 by 38 of the Sixth Form a link with a School in Beijing is now underway with the Head visiting Saint Martin’s in May 2013.
With the addition of an astroturf and now with our purpose built Saint Martin's Arts Centre opened in 2012, there is no substitute for a visit to the school to experience for yourself the ethos of Saint Martin's in our unique setting surrounding Malvern Hall. You are most welcome to come and see the school in action at any time and I look forward to meeting you.
