Profile, location and history of Saint Martins School Solihull
The School

Saint Martin’s School provides education for day girls between the ages of two and three quarters and eighteen.

Between the different educational phases of the school, there are close links and Saint Martin’s operates as one school sharing a distinct ethos. Many of the teaching staff work in more than one area of the school and this is particularly the case in the PE, Music and MFL Departments where staff teach across the age groups.

Girls from Nursery (aged 2 years and 9 months) to Year 3 are taught in the Alice House. Here they have access to an enclosed and safe play area with in the extensive school grounds. In Year 3 the girls become integrated into the Junior School during the course of the summer term before moving to that building in Year 4.

The Junior School accommodates Years 4, 5 and 6 and although the girls are taught mainly in their form rooms, they have lessons in specialist areas such as that of ICT and Music, as well as making use of other facilities in the Senior School. They have their lunch in the main school dining room.

The Senior School is located adjoining Malvern Hall and girls begin in this section of the school from Year 7. With extensive specialist teaching areas in all subjects from ICT to Food and Design and Technology, the girls follow a broad curriculum.

The Sixth Form have their own teaching area located in the old stable and coach house of Malvern Hall. A modern link between these two buildings forms an impressive Sixth Form common room.
