Mimi Howes
We heard only a short time ago from Mimi Howes, the first Persian girl at Saint Martin’s who you will be interested to hear is reprinting her autobiography “DO-RE-MI – A Retrospective” which includes some wonderful accounts of her time in Solihull, joining the School in 1952. Mimi is selling the book in aid of Kids Company, a charity founded by Camila Batmanghelidj, the daughter of another Old Girl Lucile Homayounfar. The book can be purchased via Mimi by sending a cheque payable to Kids Company for £12.50 to 32 Walkerscroft Mead, London SE21 8LJ. By downloading a Gift Aid Declaration this would further benefit the Charity.
Facebook
There are several Facebook sites associated with Saint Martin’s, the one which is the largest was started by Kate Cook. We would like those with smaller sites to be in contact with us in order to bring all these sites together. Please contact Jane Webber, Marketing and PR via email jwebber@saintmartins-school.com if you are able to help in this respect.
Old Girls with Daughters at the School
We currently have 25 girls at Saint Martin's whose mothers also attended the School. One Old Girl, Mrs Emma Pimlott (née Lewis) has been teaching here since leaving University. The list of daughters has been put together by Mrs Jackie Minshull (née Tyacke), Old Girl and former Chair of the Parents' Association.
