We aim to give each girl the very best start to their School life. Girls are cared for in an environment that is safe and secure, stimulating and challenging.
Girls are happy, they thrive, learn and enjoy interacting in Nursery. At Saint Martin’s School we are committed to providing the very best individualised learning for all girls within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
“In EYFS, provision for the children’s well-being is excellent. Staff ensure that children are happy and enjoy what they are doing.”
Nursery and Reception fall within the EYFS setting where each girl is regarded as being special and unique. We ascertain the starting point for learning and then provide the building blocks to enable the girls to reach their full potential. Through active learning the girls gain the confidence to think critically, ask questions, investigate, and explore; they are encouraged to be involved in their own learning and make choices from an early age.
Swimming, music, ICT and dance are all part of the School day. Girls make excellent progress and by Reception age have gained essential skills to make the very best of the opportunities on offer at statutory school age. We have a flexible School day during School time but are open from 8.00 am until 6.00 pm, offering wrap-around care. In addition a holiday club is available on site.
Please do take a look at our EYFS Information Booklet for more details about Nursery and Reception at Saint Martin’s School.
Girls are provided with a choice of well-balanced meals which are cooked on the School premises.
Confidence, enthusiasm for learning and a close supportive relationship between child, parent and teacher provide the very best introduction to School life.
“Parents report that they are delighted with all aspects of EYFS.”
