Year 9 are Netball Borough Champions

Yesterday the Year 9 Netball team took part in the Solihull Borough Netball Tournament with 14 schools involved.

Saint’s Martin’s won their group by beating CTC 13 – 0, Langley 5 – 3,                 Lode Heath 9 – 2, St Peter’s 10 – 0, Coleshill 17 – 0 and drawing with Tudor Grange 4 – 4.

In the semi-final Saint Martin’s played Solihull School and at half time Saint Martin’s were losing 3 – 0.  But in the second half, the girls were able to come back and achieve an impressive victory, winning 6 – 3!

In the final Saint Martin’s met Tudor Grange, who they had drawn with in the previous round. It was end to end play, but I am thrilled to report that Saint Martin’s pulled off the victory winning 6 – 5 and were crowned Champions of the Tournament.

The team have now qualified for the County Tournament which will be held at North Leamington School on Wednesday 23 November.

Congratulations to:

Isabella Poppy, Millie Gallagher, Hannah Eames, Katy Scott, Yasmin Wadsworth, Millie Harper, Sarah Sawyer and Ania Gahan.
