Year 7 win Borough Rounders tournament

The Year 7 Rounders team have won the Solihull Borough Rounders Tournament in a very close competition.  The team won 3 out of 4 matches in their group.  They went through as runners-up to play the winners of the other group, Heart of England School and fielded well to win this match 8 – 2.

The girls then went through to the final against Solihull School. Our great fielding meant that Solihull only managed to score 2½ rounders so the team were in with a chance. However fielding from Solihull meant that we also only scored 2½ rounders. The results in rounders was therefore a draw.

However the outcome of the tournament is decided on the number of players each team managed to get out. We got 8 of the Solihull team out and Solihull got 5 of our team out so we were declared the winners.

Well done to all the girls who took part, they were totally committed, enthusiastic and hard working all evening. Congratulations to Eve Johnson, Charlotte Watson, Sharondip Sandhu, Eleanor Gaspar, Sophie Tudor, Francesca Donovan, Bonnie Gordon-Young, Grace Harrison, Isabel Higgins, Amelia Bogira and Nina Harper.
