Year 6 Netball Team become Borough Tournament Champions

The Year 6 Netball team competed in the Borough High Five Netball Festival at Lode Heath School. The girls got off to a storming start beating Balsall Common School 11 – 0 and they continued to dominate every game winning all 5 of their matches with an incredible 41 goals scored and only 1 conceded.

As group winners the team met Monkspath in the semi final. Having lost to them by just one goal earlier in the year, the girls knew it would be a tough match. Monkspath did not miss a shot in the first half and went 3 – 0 up by half time. However with renewed focus and accurate passing the Year 6 team played a superb second half to win 7 goals to 3.

In the final they were to play Solihull School who are also a very competent team. This was a nail biting match played at a very fast pace by both teams and there was no room for error! The pressure was immense — but the girls kept their cool, produced the game of their lives and won 3 – 0 to become Borough Tournament Champions.

Better still they retain the trophy that was won by last year’s Year 6 Team.

The team will now be representing Solihull Borough in the Level 3 County Games next Friday.
