Girls in Year 3 spent the day in Birmingham last week visiting the Julia Donaldson exhibition and the Birmingham Museum. At the exhibition the girls were able to see a selection of Julia Donaldson’s old notebooks and illustrations from a variety of her work. They had no idea that she had written so many books.
After lunch the girls visited Birmingham Museum to support their topic on Ancient Greece. They played detective and looked at a selection of Greek artefacts including a discus and a piece of hand mirror. They ended the day by role-playing the story of Icarus.
Giorgia “Wow, so many Julia Donaldson books!”
Phoebe ”I loved seeing all her work. I want to be a writer when I grow up.”
Evie “It is great learning about the Ancient Greeks; this museum is brilliant.”
