Girls in Year 2 visited Birmingham Nature Centre as part of their Science learning. They were able to observe and learn about a huge variety of animals. The girls spent most of the day there and luckily the weather was fine.
The girls saw two types of wild cat, an ocelot and a lynx. There was also a red panda but unfortunately he was too lazy to come down from the tree, even when his food was brought in. Year 2 enjoyed watched the meerkats digging and playing and had to look carefully to spot the camouflaged snakes. The highlight of the day was seeing the otters being fed; they seemed to know the time and were waiting by the gate for the keeper to bring their food.
Rhea enjoyed seeing the lynx as she had never seen one before.
Selena liked looking around the gift shop.
Giorgia’s favourite part was looking at the mini beasts.
