Girls in Year 10 were invited to take part in a STEM competition by the Science Department and the winners were announced in assembly today. The girls were tasked with writing a letter to Lord Robert Winston to express their feelings on the subject of gene editing of human embryos. The standard of entries was extremely impressive and the Science Department found it difficult to decide upon the final 4 winners.
We are delighted to announce that the winners are:
Annabel, Ellen, Nyasha and Josie
They will be attending a STEM day aimed at GSA schools where Lord Winston is the Keynote Speaker. The day also includes a lecture from the Lead Curator at the London Science Museum, as well as a variety of workshops including a liquid nitrogen demonstration and a thrust supersonic car.
Commendations were awarded to :
Alice, Arooj, Ashleigh, Francesca, Jade and Vritti.
