Delight for Saint Martin’s School as it tops Government’s Attainment 8 Key performance table.

SAINT Martin’s School is top of the class when it comes to Attainment 8 performance – latest Department for Education statistics reveal.

The Brueton Avenue-based Independent School for girls features ahead of all other state and independent schools in the Borough, scoring an excellent Attainment 8 rating of 66.6.

Attainment 8 measures pupils’ average grades across eight GCSE subjects – with the key categories of English and Maths double weighted to signify their importance. Delighted Nicola Smillie said: “We are very proud to have topped the Attainment 8 league table for Key Stage 4 girls across Solihull.

“Our position reflects the hard work of staff and pupils and is particularly pleasing as it is a reflection of the girls’ abilities across a range of subjects.

“We are especially delighted with our outstanding score of 97% of girls achieving Grade 5 or above in their English and Maths GCSEs.

“We will continue to build on this success.”
