Tartuffe Workshop and Performance

Girls from Year 11 and Lower Sixth visited the Birmingham Rep Theatre for a workshop and performance of “Tartuffe” by Molière. The girls spent the morning in the workshop with actors from the play and the director, Roxana Silbert. The workshop began with a question and answer session during which the girls met Mark Williams who plays the lead character Tartuffe.  He is also known for his role as Arthur Weasley in the Harry Potter films.

The girls then had the opportunity to direct three of the actors in a scene from the play using the actual theatre set which was an amazing experience. The afternoon was spent watching, and laughing at, the very comical and modernised performance of Tartuffe. The girls will review the production for their GCSE and AS courses.
