Girls in Year 9 spent a day in the workplace in December, as part of the “Take Our Daughters to Work” project. As women now account for 47% of the nation’s work force, we need to help our girls to make informed choices and to compete successfully in their chosen careers. On Take Our Daughters to Work Day we aim to give them the chance to experience a working day, to encourage them to plan now for their future professions, and to be ambitious about their future achievements.
Following their working day the girls were tasked with putting together a project to review their experience. The folders were judged and prizes awarded for the best project.
Congratulations go to the overall winners Annabel Bamford, Elizabeth Bateman and Ashleigh Murray.
Runner-up was Hadiqa Afzal and Highly Commended were Lilly Butterworth, Lily Mann and Maria Owens.
Well done to everyone who took part.
