Two teams entered the prestigious Warwick 100 Swimming Gala and swam extremely well to achieve excellent results. The Under 16 team won both the Medley and the Freestyle relays to become the Overall Under 16 Champions. The competition is very tough attracting the very top club swimmers.
There were also outstanding individual results for both teams who each displayed some amazing swimming. In the Under 16s Maria Lyri won the 100m Breaststroke by an amazing ¾ of a length, a fantastic achievement! Sophie Stables found herself swimming against a competitor who had an Olympic trial last year. Sophie beat her previous personal best time by 2 seconds in the 200m Individual Medley race and won on the touch – a fantastic swim. Alice Mann also swam brilliantly to win the 100m Butterfly. Megan Stretton came 2nd in the 100m Front Crawl and Lucy Glover came 3rd in the 100m Backstroke.
The Under 14s also had their share of success with Francesca Kenna finishing 3rd in 100m Backstroke; Alice Glover came 3rd in 100m Butterfly; Olivia Barker finished 4th in 100m Front Crawl; Lauren Singleton came 4th in 200m Individual Medley; and Eve Armstrong was placed 5th in 100m Breaststroke.
Well done girls!
