Sports Results – Hockey, Swimming, Cross Country

Hockey

On Saturday 3 teams played against Kingsley School. The Year 7 A team played well and won 3 – 2. The B team had a really exciting match, eventually ending in a 4 – 4 draw. The Year 10/11 team played really well to win 3 -1 and Emily Ratchford was named as Player of the Match.

Swimming

On Monday the Year 7/8 team of Amelia Bogira, Francesca Donovan, Lauryn Leedham, Carmen Whaley and Isabella Willman took part in the Bromsgrove Invitation Relay Gala. The girls all swam personal best times and were swimming against Year 8 club swimmers. The standard of swimming was extremely high and schools came from as far afield as Bedford, Hereford and Newcastle-Under-Lyme. We qualified for the B final in the Medley Relay and finished in 4th place, an amazing achievement.

Cross Country

On Tuesday the third League Cross Country race took place and 42 of our girls ran in the event. The highest finisher in Year 7 was Joanna Minshull who came 8th. In Year 8/9  Katy Scott finished 2nd with excellent runs from Millie Gallagher in 9th position and Ania Gahan in 12th. Sophie Stables was the highest finisher in Year 11 in 8th position.

The Sixth Form team boasted 8 runners with Ravneet Virdee, Annie Sawyer and Bronwyn Schofield taking part in their first Cross Country event. Isabelle Thomas finished 16th with Abi Allwood in 17th place.

Well done to all girls taking part in the above events.
