Nepal Earthquake Appeal

As you may know, Saint Martin’s School has a link with a partner school in Nepal. The link has enriched our curriculum in so many ways and given staff and girls experiences most could only dream of. All parts of the school and most departments have shared a project with Annal Jyoti School, Kathmandu. This year’s Year 7 enrichment trip about celebrating different religions is being done in collaboration with our partners.

Largely thanks to this link, Saint Martin’s has been accredited with the International School Award three times; four members of staff have been able to go and plan and implement projects; we received funding for two Global Curriculum Project grants which culminated in a large project and pupil exchange in 2012; many Sixth Form girls or leavers have used our partner school as a base for volunteering, work experience or gap-year experiences. We could never have asked for better hosts.

Now they need our help as Kathmandu has been devastated by the recent earthquake. Annal Jyoti School and all its pupils have survived but many are left without homes or supplies. The school itself is providing temporary shelter. With your help we can give funds directly to where they are needed. Please donate whatever you can spare to the International Nepal Fellowship ( via Just Giving – it will make a massive difference to our friends.
