Junior School compose Monster Poetry

Girls from the Junior School have been creating monsters as part of the Young Writers’ Monster Poetry competition. The challenge tasked the girls with inventing their own creatures and then writing a poem to demonstrate their imagination and technical writing ability.

We are delighted to announce that a selection of our girls were successful and will be having their “Monster Poems” published in a special anthology.  The collection will be kept at the British Library and copies will be available at other libraries across the UK.  The School will receive a complimentary copy of the book, which is scheduled for publication on 31 March 2014.

There were thousands of entries from all over the country and the work has been selected for publication based on perception, imagination, expression and creative use of language. This is a great achievement and we are very proud of the all of girls.
