Girls perform at Proms First Night

Girls from the Senior School will this year be joining others from around the country to perform at the Opening Night of the BBC Proms. Phoebe Manley, Niamh Robinson and Alice Mottram who sing with the world famous City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra’s Youth Chorus will join other exceptional choirs from Wales and Northern Ireland to make up the BBC Proms Youth Choir at The Royal Albert Hall.

Girls from the School have sung at previous Proms concerts but this is the first time that they have had the privilege of opening the famous Promenade concert season.

Intensive rehearsals are already underway under the direction of the CBSO’s Chorus Director, Mr Simon Halsey. Although the First Night concert sold out within hours of going on sale, you will be still be able to enjoy the evening live on BBC1 on Friday 12 July.

Also pictured are Ellen Crockett, Jade Horan and Emily Peachey, Year 7, who sing with the CBSO Children’s Chorus.
