GCSE and A Level Drama students were delighted to take part in a workshop with “Blood Brothers” star Sean Jones. Currently appearing in the play at the Birmingham Hippodrome theatre, Sean has played the role of Mickey for 12 years. He shared his acting experiences with the girls and spoke about his character Mickey, how the audience bonds with him and feels real empathy towards him. Sean also talked about how an actor’s posture tells a story and the girls were then tasked with portraying a scene through a series of 3 freeze frames.
Sean’s visit was particularly exciting and timely as only yesterday Mrs Stafford, Head of Drama announced that next year’s School production will be “Blood Brothers”. The performances will be staged in February, with rehearsals and auditions taking place after the half term holiday.
