Alice House Sports Day

Last Tuesday we hosted our annual Alice House Sports Day. The weather was glorious and all the girls were excited and keen to take part in lots of races. Aleena Hussain in Year 2 gave a wonderful speech welcoming all parents to the event. Year 2 then led all the Alice House girls out in a parade carrying the Saint Martin’s flag.

Nursery through to Year 2 took part in 44 events in a variety of races. There was lots of encouragement and cheers from the parents and there was a lovely atmosphere. All girls thoroughly enjoyed receiving stickers from Miss Edgar.

It was also fantastic to see so many parents volunteer to take part in the parents’ relay race at the end of Sports Day. There were over 40 participants and the girls absolutely loved watching it.

This is the first year that the girls have competed in their houses for an event. They all took part in a relay event and points were given. These points were all added up across the year groups and the results are as follows:

Reception Teddy Bear Relay
1st – Swords
2nd – Shields
3rd – Helmets
4th – Cloaks

Year 1 Toy Shop Relay
1st – Cloaks
2nd – Swords
3rd – Shields
4th – Helmets

Year 2 Toy Shop Relay
1st – Cloaks
2nd – Shields
3rd – Helmets
4th – Swords

Overall results were:
1st – Cloaks
2nd – Swords
3rd – Shields
4th – Helmets

A big thank you to all the PE staff and Alice House staff for all their support and help in my first year organising such an important event.
