High flying girls reach outstanding standards again at Saint Martin’s
Saint Martin’s Upper Sixth students received a record number of outstanding grades with 20% at A*, 56% at A* – A, 81% at A* to B, and 96% of all grades at A* to C. Together with an outstanding 100% pass rate we have been rated Top Smaller School in England for the second year running.
Cambridge successes include Emily Bhasin, who will be taking up a place at King’s College to read Chemical Engineering having achieved 4 A*s at A level, and Alice Mottram is set to read English at the Murray-Edwards College.
Sarah O’Connor, Head Girl, is to be congratulated on her straight A* grades, and for the second year in a row the Head Girl of Saint Martin’s will read medicine at Cardiff.
50% of the Upper Sixth added the equally coveted extended project qualification (EPQ), with half of those achieving the top grade of A*. These university-style dissertations included topics ranging from Evelyn Waugh to the use of music therapy to treat Alzheimer’s.
Jane Carwithen, Head of Saint Martin’s said “I am delighted that our winning combination of highly skilled, talented staff and the excellent work ethic of our girls has once more resulted in superb results for so many.”
