Destiny Choir Visit May 2010
Girls and Staff in Alice House and Junior School were once again delighted to be entertained by the Destiny Choir from Kampala Children’s Centre in Uganda. The Choir are touring and performing across the UK and took time to visit the girls this week. They entertained the audience with a selection of African drum patterns and rhythms, songs and dancing. The Kampala children taught the girls a song with parts in English and African language.
The performance ended with Alice House and Junior School girls taken up to dance with the choir. The girls were then presented with a certificate of thanks for the gifts they sent to Kampala Children's Centre earlier this year.
The girls and staff were mesmerised by the enthusiasm and happiness of the children who have come from such tragic circumstances. We are delighted to have built such a firm friendship with these amazing children.
