Saint Martin’s Symphony Orchestra

My name is Phoebe Manley and I am currently in the Lower Sixth here at Saint Martin’s School.

I have a real passion for music and I am aiming to set up a Symphony Orchestra of parents, pupils, staff and friends of Saint Martin’s, who would enjoy coming together to make wonderful music. I hope there are many of you out there who would consider joining us.

I would like to bring together all sections of an orchestra including strings, woodwind, brass and percussion.

Although no formal grades of musicianship would be required, an ability to read and play music to an approximate Grade 3 standard and above would be ideal.

Rehearsals start on Wednesday 4 March. For those who could not attend the current Wednesday 4:00pm till 5:00pm slot, an occasional evening or weekend time would be arranged. Music scores could also be borrowed to allow rehearsal at home.

A provisional date for our first performance has already been pencilled in for the Senior School concert on Wednesday 25 March at 7:00 pm, with a preceding rehearsal on Saturday 21 March from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Should you require any further information I can be contacted via the School Office on
